Punjab has very strong base for Chemical-related industry which includes petrochemicals, chemical and fertilisers, with a contribution of more than 5% to the entire segment in India. State will develop PCPIR region to build and develop downstream industries around Bhatinda Oil Refinery in Bathinda district. State has proposed to set up a Plastic Park to manufacture poly propene at Hi-tech cycle valley, Ludhiana. State is focussing on Technical Textile Park and trying to explore International partnership for technology transfer and Joint Ventures.
